Westhampton College Scholarships

The Westhampton College alumnae are pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the eight scholarships listed below for spring 2012. These scholarships are available to Westhampton College students for the 2012-2013 academic year.
To be considered, complete the following standard fields. Next, click on the individual scholarship(s) listed below to complete information specific to each. Applications should be completed by Friday, March 2, 2012, at 5 p.m., EST. The recipient will be notified via letter around the first of June 2012.

Class of 1935

The Westhampton College Class of 1935 Scholarship was established in 1985 by members of the class as a special gift honoring their 50th Reunion. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Westhampton College student. Priority may be given to a student who is a Virginia resident.

Approximate amount of award: $7,750

The award may be divided among several recipients. Final determination of the award amount will be made by the Office of Financial Aid.


Class of 1940

The Westhampton Class of 1940 Scholarship was established by the members of the Class of 1940 as a special Reunion gift to Westhampton College. This scholarship will be awarded to one or more Westhampton College students, with priority given to those who are the daughters or granddaughters of Westhampton College alumnae.

Approximate amount of award: $23,620

The award may be divided among several recipients. Final determination of the award amount will be made by the Office of Financial Aid.


Class of 1941

The Westhampton Class of 1941 Scholarship was established by the members of the Class of 1941 as a special Reunion gift to Westhampton College. First priority of selection will be given to Westhampton students who are the descendants or relatives of the members of the Class of 1941; second priority will be given to those related to any Westhampton College alumna.

Approximate amount of award: $18,900

The award may be divided among several recipients. Final determination of the award amount will be made by the Office of Financial Aid.


Class of 1944

The Westhampton Class of 1944 Scholarship was established in 1994 in memory of Miss Isabel Harris, WCR’06, by members of the class on the occasion of their 50th Reunion. Priority shall be given to a female student who is a daughter, granddaughter, or great granddaughter of a Westhampton College alumna in the Class of 1944. Second priority will be given to any relative of a Westhampton College alumna in the Class of 1944, and third priority to any relative of a Westhampton College alumna.

The award may be divided among several recipients. Final determination of the award amount will be made by the Office of Financial Aid.


Class of 1950

The Westhampton College Class of 1950 Scholarship was established in 1990 by members of the class in appreciation of the educational opportunities given them during their student days at the University of Richmond. This scholarship shall be awarded to a Westhampton College rising sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who displays good citizenship and acts in a manner that enhances the University’s program. Preference will be given to a relative of a member of the Westhampton College Class of 1950, or to a relative of a Westhampton College alumna, in that order.

Class of 1952

The Westhampton College Class of 1952 Memorial Scholarship was established in 1982 by the members of the Class of 1952 on the occasion of their 30th Reunion and in special memory of members of the Class of 1952. This scholarship may be awarded to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior student of Westhampton College who is a daughter or granddaughter of a Westhampton College alumna with priority given to a daughter or granddaughter of a member of the Class of 1952. This student will have managed her scholarship, personal life, and interests in such a way that she has made a contribution to Westhampton College.

Approximate amount of award: $18,900

Catherine Bell Scholarship

The Catherine Bell Scholarship was established by the Class of 1971 in honor of Catherine Bell, who served Westhampton students as a faithful teacher and beloved registrar for many years. This scholarship offers financial aid to Westhampton College students with demonstrated financial need. It is required that the applicant have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and demonstrated financial need.

WC Alumnae Richmond Club Scholarship

The WC Alumnae Richmond Club Scholarship was established in 1981 by the Richmond Club of the Westhampton College Alumnae Association. This scholarship offers financial assistance to a Westhampton College student from the Richmond, Virginia area. Priority will be given to a daughter or granddaughter of a Westhampton College alumna.
