Winter 2020 Recent Grad Feature

A year after graduation, Arthur Tartee, ’17, was ready for a change. While he was pursuing a promising career, he felt something was missing. As fate would have it, the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation was in the midst of restructuring, adding a new Alumni Network Manager position. When the role was posted, more than one person thought of Arthur and sent the job his way. He applied immediately, interviewed, and was offered the job. He’s now responsible for building an alumni network from the ground up, serving over 18,000 Bonner graduates.

Summer 2019 Recent Grad Feature

From an early age, Fabiana Ayala, '17, was inspired by cultures and identities different from her own. Growing up in Bolivia and attending school in Hong Kong allowed her to develop a worldly outlook, which shaped much of who she is today. As a student at the University of Richmond, Fabiana continued to pursue international engagement, even starting a business ventur through the financial support of a Davis Peace Project Grant. Two years after graduation, she continues to push herself and embrace new challenges.

Winter 2019 Recent Grad Feature

For freelance writer Maggie Burch, ’14, the University of Richmond was an easy choice. Not only was the campus beautiful and the size just right, but Richmond had something unique to offer her that not many other universities did – a journalism specific program. While you can walk onto almost any campus and hear about a communications program, Maggie knew she wanted something unique, and UR was the place to get it.

UR vs. VCU: Rivalry Reflections

For over 40 years, the Richmond – VCU basketball rivalry has been unforgettable. We asked three Spider alumni to share their Capital City Classic reflections as we prepare for the UR vs. VCU game watches that will be hosted across the nation for this season’s battle for the Capital on Wednesday, February 13 and Saturday, March 2.

University of Richmond alumni Greg Beckwith, R’87, T.J. Cline, ’17, and Allie Ware, ’14, explained how electric this battle can be.

Fall 2018 Recent Grad Feature

Meet Julia Baer, University of Richmond Class of 2015 graduate and recent Quidditch World Cup Champion. That's right - we said quidditch.

When Julia arrived on campus in the fall of 2011, she was looking for a way to get involved and chose to check out the Quidditch team. As she says, "I was just another freshman giving a club sport a try."

A Note from Deans Mia Reinoso Genoni and Joe Boehman

Dear Spider Young Graduates, We hope that this note finds you well. As we write this, the cool weather has finally arrived. The campus is vibrant with activity, with Trick Or Treat Street just around the corner along with a host of other fantastic events both old and new for our students to enjoy. It is truly a great time to be part of the Spider community!
