Homecoming at the University of Richmond will be here before you know it, from October 23–25, 2026! We look forward to celebrating with you as Spiders come together across generations for a weekend filled with lasting memories, cherished traditions, and plenty of Richmond pride.

From tailgates and happy hour to campus tours and the big football game against Colgate at Robins Stadium on Saturday, October 24, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re reconnecting with classmates, cheering on the Spiders, or simply enjoying the beauty of campus in the fall, Homecoming Weekend is your perfect time to come home.

    Kick off Homecoming Weekend in style at the ultimate Friday night celebration — Party Under the Lights! Join fellow alumni and friends in the Jepson Alumni Center courtyard from 5:30–8:30 p.m. for an evening full of fun, music, and Spider spirit. For just $15, you’ll enjoy live music that’ll keep you dancing, delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar with $5 drinks all night long. It’s the best Happy Hour in town—and the perfect way to toast to Homecoming! Whether you’re reconnecting with old classmates or making new friends, this is one unforgettable evening you won’t want to miss.     Join us in celebrating 20 years of the Oliver Hill (formerly CIGNA) Scholars Program at the University of Richmond. Please join us for a special dinner honoring two decades of impact, community, and achievement. We are delighted to welcome Dr. Tina Cade, Founding Program Director, as our distinguished guest of honor for the evening. Together, we’ll celebrate this legacy and its lasting impact on past, present, and future Spiders. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the program’s continued growth, ensuring its promise reaches future generations of scholars.     The UR Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner will be on Friday, October 23. Inductees will also be introduced during the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 24. The 2026 Hall of Fame class consists of Tim Bezbatchenko, ’04 (men’s soccer), Vito Chiaravalloti, ’03 (baseball), Eric McBride, ’11 (football), Brittani Shells, ’11 (women’s basketball), and Jessica Witt Leach, ’08 (swimming & diving).     Tyreek McDole at Christian McBride Jazz Weekend

    UR Black Alumni Network Tailgate

    Join the UR Black Alumni Network (URBAN) for an exciting pregame gathering before the Homecoming football game.     Known for his expansive artistry and forward-thinking vision in jazz, Christian McBride has blazed an extraordinary trail as one of the most preeminent musicians of his time. The 11-time Grammy Award-winner has excelled as a dynamic musician, a prolific composer-arranger-producer, a distinguished curator, and a dedicated educator and mentor. A prolific bandleader, McBride’s ensembles are each distinctive extensions of his creative inspiration, which span jazz funk, soul, Latin, hip hop, and rhythm and blues. His celebrated groups – including his newest, Ursa Major – have not only enjoyed consistent critical acclaim, but they have also emphasized his role as an early presenter of rising stars. McBride’s staggeringly diverse career also includes the role of host of NPR’s public radio program Jazz Night in America as well as The Lowdown: Conversations with Christian on SiriusXM and several artistic director titles at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, among others.
